I have enjoyed the photos and your comments.
Jen is looking into comments from the blog itself... Still waiting to hear about that.
So far all is well with twins and I am expecting them on May 19,2008 the full moon.... Worked for my Jennifer.

Bowl 14

White pine salad bowl. Finished with olive oil. Measures 12.75x 4 inches.

Bowl 13

Cottonwood salad bowl with olive oil finish, light and measures 13x 3 inches. Front and back have the blue color.

Bowl 12

This is hackberry. It is from the Wardlaw's and was collected from the ice storm in 07. Measures 8.5x 3 inches.

Color and grain is wonderful!

Bowl 11

This is local walnut. Nice grain and smooth but has a crack which adds character. Measures 6.75x 2.5 inches.

Bowl 10

This is fishtail oak. A special wood given to Bill for whatever. Many bowls take shape in the mind and then in the wood. Nice specialty dish 6.75x 1.75 inches.

Bowl 8

This is one of the biggest bowls...Thanks to B'ville compost boys. They keep Bill in mind when the big logs come in. This is white pine bowl 13.25x 5.25 inches. It was turned green which is a quick process on the lathe but then the bowl dries warps and becomes a shape with character.

Finished with olive oil for salad bowl use.

Bowl 7

This is some red oak from our place. It is finished with olive oil and would make a nice salad bowl for any table. 11.25 x 3.5 inches.

Color is facinating!

This is a white pine wormy bowl..... I let him put this our microwave! That treat,,,,meant is to kill the worms... If you look at the back of the bowl you will see the many holes. From the stump dump to the table... It has a lot of character.

Bowl 5

This locust bowl is unique. 9.5 x 2.25 inches. It came from an old farm yard in Bentonville.

I really enjoy watching the different shapes appear. This one is shortier but captures some quality grain and is smooth and silky. One of a kind.

Bowl 4

Here is some nice cottonwood from Bville. It measures 11.5 x 3.5 inches.

It has some wonderful color and knot holes.

Bowl 3, Walnut

Here is some local walnut. Bill is not sure if this was from here or a neighbors walnut...Nice bowl that is 8.5 inches x 3 inches.

Bowl 2

Bowl 2 is the twins. Sound familiar... To celebrate Ant and Bee! These are of white pine. Bill found soom beautiful pine from the compost facility in Bentonville. Ah the aroma of turned pine is fabulous... These are a matched set. Each is 8.75x3,5 inches.

WELCOME

Here is my first attempt at the blog for Bill's Bowls. Thanks to Jen and Lisa for their blog quick start help.

Everyone received the email but no pictures of the bowls. So now I hope to number each and include photos on the blog....

You will see how computer illiterate I am but I did attach those pictures to the email....Even though I resized the photos there were too many bytes..

Here is bowl number 1. It is a set of white oak bowls. One large and 6 individual salad bowls. Finish is olive oil, white oak is cut from here. We are trying ot open up some more pasture.
